Richard Monroy

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Over the past 16 years, Mr. Monroy, Founder and CEO of Millennium PetroCapital Corporation, has accumulated valuable knowledge, expertise and numerous accolades in the energy industry. Throughout this decade and a half, Mr. Monroy has been involved in nearly all facets of the oil and gas industry. Project selection, project financing, acquisitions and overseeing field operations have been among his various executive duties. Mr. Monroy’s strong acuity for oil and gas transactions and his passion to create a stable and growing company are the driving forces behind Millennium’s continued success.

Prior to founding the Millennium group of companies, Mr. Monroy was a licensed securities broker focused specifically on oil and natural gas investments. Mr. Monroy left the brokerage business and assembled a team of experts including geologists, geophysicists, engineers, land negotiators and financial experts to help him produce premium oil and gas ventures, from concept to cash flow. Through his strong professional reputation, ability to raise millions of dollars and his close industry associations with experts and energy corporations, Mr. Monroy and Millennium have become substantial producers of oil and natural gas reserves in the Texas Gulf Coast Basin.

Mr. Monroy, in addition to the Millennium companies, has various interests in a variety of Texas businesses. Mr. Monroy believes that successes as an entrepreneurial business owner and partner stem from passion, hard work and calculated risk. Mr. Monroy is a member of the Texas Independent Royalty Owners Association, the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, the National Association of Royalty Owners, the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Oil and Gas Association.


James Ramirez

Senior Vice President

Mr. Ramirez joined the Millennium companies in 2009 and has quickly climbed the ranks becoming Vice President in early 2010 and Senior Vice President in 2011. Mr. Ramirez works side by side with our CEO in the areas of company development, project management and public relations. Mr. Ramirez’s foresight and business acumen have contributed greatly to the successful development of Millennium’s portfolio of oil and gas properties.

Mr. Ramirez is a native of San Antonio, Texas. For the past 25 years Mr. Ramirez has been involved in the education profession. Mr. Ramirez Received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Political Science in 1988 from UTSA. Over the years Mr. Ramirez has taught Economics, American History, World History, Geography, American Government, Psychology, and Sociology. In 1997 Mr. Ramirez Received a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A &M University at Kingsville. From 2000 to 2009 Mr. Ramirez was a high school counselor in San Antonio area schools.


James Brake

Vice President of Exploration - Senior Geologist

Mr. Brake graduated from Stephan F. Austin University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, with a concentration in Physics. He has been in the Oil and Gas industry for over 30 years. Over the years his duties and experience have included oil and gas prospect generation and due diligence, review and research, investor relations and field activities. He also provides geological knowledge, mapping, mud log and e-log evaluation, well-site geology and field (completion) experience in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Since 2001 Mr. Brake has owned and operated the geological consulting firm, JB Geo Logic, Inc. Mr. Brake and his firm specialize in determining reservoir characteristics, structure and stratigraphy, compiling production data, obtaining mineral leases, writing reports, preparing display materials, making formal presentations to potential investors, administrate business and subcontract professional services as needed.

Mr. Brake joined the Millennium companies in early 2013 as Vice President of Exploration where he oversees all geological aspects of oil and gas projects sponsored by the firm. Mr. Brake along with contracted geologists, geophysicists, engineers and Millennium’s senior management work together in the selection and acquisition of the company’s oil and gas properties and drilling prospects.


Bob Stinziano

Vice President of Operations

At 75, Mr. Stinziano brings in excess of thirty years of South Texas oil and gas operating expertise to Millennium PetroCapital Corporation as our Vice President of Operations. Mr. Stinziano entered the oil and gas industry in 1985 as General Manager of Brandon and Steele in Los Angeles, California. In 1987, Mr. Stinziano formed and acted as President of Gerwin Stinziano Securities, Inc., a FINRA firm specializing in the funding and managing of producing oil and gas properties in South Texas. The firm was also active in the funding of movie and video production in the Los Angeles, California area. At that time Mr. Stinziano was an invitational speaker at a UCLA symposium on the funding of public and private placements in the movie industry.

In 1991, Mr. Stinziano moved to San Antonio, Texas, to open a branch office of Gerwin Stinziano Securities and simultaneously served as President of Stinger Oil and Gas, Inc., where he supervised the day to day operation of over one hundred oil and gas wells.

From 2002 to 2012, Mr. Stinziano acted as Registered Principal for Trinity Securities Inc., again specializing in the funding of energy investments in South Texas. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Stinziano served as Vice President of operations for Republic Resources, LLC, an oil and gas operating company and an affiliate of Trinity Securities, Inc.


Eva Varnum

Chief Financial Officer

Mrs. Varnum brings to Millennium over thirty-five years of administrative experience in the oil and gas industry. As Chief Financial Officer, she meticulously performs her leadership role by providing strategic financial input to senior management, crucial for keen and efficient executive-level decision making. Mrs. Varnum also directly assists company supervisors in all strategic and tactical matters related to budget management, field operations and Railroad Commission of Texas regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Millennium, Mrs. Varnum’s finance expertise began in 1983 at Diamond Shamrock Corporation (now Valero Energy, a fortune 500 company). In 2001, her experience led her to executive-level financial roles with Republic Resources and then Premier Minerals. In these positions, she cultivated considerable knowledge of the inner workings of energy exploration projects and their financial profiles. Mrs. Varnum is well-versed in all levels of oil and gas accounting and serves as the company’s financial liaison to vendors, industry partners, and private investors.


Theo Jahns

Vice President of Investor Relations

Prior to joining the Millennium group of companies in 2008, Mr. Jahns was a licensed Series 22 and Series 63 securities broker focused specifically on oil and natural gas investments. Mr. Jahns has spent close to two decades developing experience in the oil and gas industry as well as in the Geotechnical and Geoscience community while working with Fugro-McClelland Marine Geosciences, Inc.

Mr. Jahns is 43 years old and a native South Texan. He serves as Millennium’s Vice President of Investor Relations and has spent many years developing invaluable relationships with private investors and industry partners, making Mr. Jahns an integral part of the continued growth and success of the Millennium family of companies.


Gary Hand

Vice President of Investor Relations

Armed with multiple college degrees and over a decade of business and management expertise, Mr. Hand joined Millennium in June of 2015 and promptly rose in the ranks to become Vice President of Investor Relations in August of 2016. Since that time, Mr. Hand has redesigned our procedures for new business development and client retention. Mr. Hand also oversees the training and development of all company associates with regard to company protocol, policy and procedures, product knowledge and client participation recommendations.

Prior to joining Millennium, Mr. Hand received his degree in Applied Science in Architecture from San Antonio College. After focusing on Restaurant Design, Mr. Hand also received an Associate in Applied Science in Culinary Arts from the Texas Culinary Academy Le Cordon Bleu in 2005. With over 13 years of Restaurant design and management experience, Mr. Hand played an integral part in the growth, design, development, and implementation of multiple businesses that are still thriving today.


David Staples

Field Operations Superintendent

Mr. Staples is a dedicated professional who brings 42 years of progressive oilfield experience to the Millennium family. His areas of expertise are numerous and include: Onsite supervision of drilling and completion procedures, cost projections, troubleshooting down-hole and surface problems, production planning and scheduling and preventive maintenance.

In 1974, having started right out of high school in his family owned oilfield service business, Mr. Staples was soon placed in charge of the daily operations of multiple drilling and workover rigs and an 80-person staff. Mr. Staple’s experience in this family enterprise also included running the company’s oil field supply store and pump repair shop, making him a results-oriented individual with a proven record of accomplishments and consistent contributions that increase efficiency and control costs.

Over the years, Mr. Staples went on to own his own oilfield service company, which operated in Texas and Oklahoma, and, most recently, was the Production Superintendent for a San Antonio based operator where, for 16 years, he ran the day-to-day field operations.


Barney Cockburn

Corporate Petroleum Landman

Mr. Cockburn occupies the crucially important position of Petroleum Landman where he performs the curative objectives on Title Opinions and Mineral Ownership Reports. Mr. Cockburn’s primary duty is to analyze the terms of Mineral Leases, verify title to assure accurate mineral ownership and then negotiate with land owners to obtain the Mineral Leases. Mr. Cockburn is instrumental in finding and acquiring the most valuable mineral assets available to meet our stringent investment requirements. As corporate Landman, he assists senior management in the vital process of discovering and assessing acquisitions for current and future development.

As a graduate of Texas State University, Mr. Cockburn started his notable career as a Landman in 2009 with Mitchell Petroleum in Gonzales, Texas, and continued to extend his proficiency in obtaining Mineral Leases and Mineral Lease negotiations until coming to Millennium with ten years of proven mineral acquisition experience.


Claudia Massey

Administrative Assistant

In the crucial position of “First Contact” with Millennium PetroCapital Corporation, Ms. Massey proves her value on a daily basis. Her experience as a legal assistant to the partners of two different Chicago, Illinois, law firms has provided her with the business acumen her position requires. Her experience in the areas of telephone etiquette and administrative duties have made her a valuable member of the Millennium team.

Ms. Massey moved to San Antonio in 2017 and is successfully assisting our Office Manager and our CEO in the areas of project design, scheduling and secretarial duties. Ms. Massey’s assistance in the day to day managerial aspects of Millennium have greatly contributed to our continued success.
